"Galway Thatch" by Michael Straub
"This photo was taken in a traditional
area of Galway. Across the road from this restored cottage are the remains of the
past.........cottages that time has left empty and damaged from the famine. This
particular cottage has been restored by an American business man who lives in Ireland part
of the year.
My wife Peggy and I were very impressed with your country and culture. I try to
instill your values in everyone who asks me "What is Ireland like?" I tell
them it is a country rich in love and life. I say "The Irish do not worry about
what they do not have, but are thankful for what they do have. And we
in America should start thinking that way." (Michael Straub.)
